McGrigors has been advising participants in the downstream gas, power, electricity and other energy industries since the late eighties and has extensive experience of capital projects in the energy sector through advising project sponsors/developers; procuring parties/bodies; financiers; parties trading in the energy markets; and regulatory bodies.
In recent years the firm has been involved in a substantial number of new-build electricity generation projects (CCGT, CHP, Hydro, Wind and other Renewables). In addition to ensuring that the necessary fuel procurement and offtake arrangements are structured correctly, McGrigors has also advised on the interpretation and application of the Grid Code, CUSC, BSC, licence arrangements, the implementation of BETTA and all other aspects of the regulation of the UK electricity and gas industries.
The firm has also provided extensive advice in relation to electricity transmission, supply and distribution activities, gas transportation, distribution, shipping, storage and supply and most recently in relation to nuclear decommissioning projects.
