McGrigors Rights
McGrigors Rights is the international human rights consultancy of McGrigors LLP. We make human rights work for, not against, you.
Globalisation brings social risk to companies entering emerging markets where there is weak governance and subsequent exposure to perceptions of complicity with human rights abuses regarding labour conditions, security, contractor standards, community relations, corruption and lack of rule of law, etc.
Our range of risk management advisory services enables our clients to identify and meet their human rights responsibilities by managing both legal obligations and increasing stakeholder expectations with a view to turning social risk into business opportunity. For our public sector clients our Best Practice Guide on Equality and Human Rights enables public authorities to ensure compliance and improve service delivery.
Our practical experience is drawn from working throughout the UK as well as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America. We have worked with a diversity of organisations including:
- Multi-national companies in the oil and gas, power, financial services, retail, telecommunication and information technology sectors.
- Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights, led by former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, with members including Barclays, General Electric, GAP, Hewlett-Packard, Ericsson, National Grid and Statoil among others.
- Governments (UK and Swiss), United Nations (Secretariat, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, International Labour Organisation and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees), World Bank Group (International Finance Corporation) and a number of non-governmental organisations.
