He has particular expertise in property telecommunications law and planning. Martin is dual qualified in Scotland and England and Wales having spent a number of years in our London office and is a member of the British Council of Shopping Centres.Recent Successes:
Investment- the acquisition of a fully let office building at 16 Old Bailey, London for a price of £56million
- acting as part of a team acquiring a portfolio of petrol companies together with ongoing lettings and disposals of parts of the portfolio
- acted for Hilstone Corporation Limited in the sale of The Great Hall, Tunbridge Wells, a multi-let retail and office development to a third party purchaser for a purchase price of just over £9.5million
- the acquisition of six regional office buildings for a new joint venture company on a sale and leaseback basis, with a total value of £10million
- the acquisition of a major distribution centre in Billingham on a sale and leaseback basis
Development
- ongoing advice in relation to a new office development at Princess Street, Manchester bought on a forward funding basis including completing Agreement for Lease in favour of office and retail tenants
- acquisition and ongoing advice relating to a development site in Knowsley, Liverpool for a price of £3.5million bought on a forward funding basis
- acquisition, forward funding and onward sale of an office development at City Point, Leeds with a sale price in excess of £30million
Landlord & Tenant
- acting for AJT Trading Limited on the assignment of 76 stores across the UK and Ireland to d2 Trading Limited
- acting for West Coast Capital (USC) Limited on the assignment of 30 stores in England and Wales
Banks
- acting on behalf of The Royal Bank of Scotland plc in relation to the funding of various speculative development
- acted on behalf of a major UK garden centre operator in its recent financing
- acting on behalf of Bank of Scotland plc in relation to the refinancing of various high net worth individuals
