Stephen is a partner in the banking & finance team and heads up the team in London.

Expertise

Stephen specialises in finance and major infrastructure projects and has advised clients across the health, education, energy, accommodation, waste and wastewater sectors. He acts for lenders and borrowers and is regularly involved in real estate finance, acquisition finance, leveraged finance and working with non-bank lenders.

• advising the Bank of Ireland on the Lisburn PPP Scheme, East Down PPP Scheme and Derry Schools PFI
• advising Barclays Bank plc on the Ashbourne LIFT Scheme
• advising HSBC on the Aikengall windfarm and Durham windfarm projects
• advising HBOS on their £20million revolving facility for Renewable Energy Generation Limited
• advising the Royal Bank of Scotland on the £40million funding of care home developer Willowbrook Healthcare Limited
• advising the Royal Bank of Scotland on the £120million facility for Caretech plc
• advising European Investment Bank on the EUR 975million A5 Austrian Road Project
• advising BNP Paribas and European Investment Bank on the £180million Newcastle BSF Project
• advising CIBC on the Stonehaven wastewater treatment plant
• advising XL Capital Assurance and European Investment Bank in the £150million combined bond and EIB financed North Lanarkshire Schools Project
• advising Bank of Scotland on its funding of 6 NHS LIFT Projects in England (Sandwell, Greater Nottingham, North Nottingham, MAST, Leicester and Southern Derbyshire) and continuing to advise the Bank of Scotland on its continuing involvement in LIFT
• advising MBIA Assurance on the projects aspects of the £75million Levenmouth waste water project, Abbey National on the £80million Meadowhead, Stevenston and Inverclyde wastewater project, the £40million Moray Firth water wastewater project, the £100million Tay wastewater Project and the £40million Dalmuir Wastewater Project
