Ian has extensive experience of acting for developers, stakeholders and funders in the renewables and alternative energy sectors across the United Kingdom advising on joint ventures, project acquisitions and development, fund raising and project construction, procurement and financing.
Recent Successes:
- advised Barclays Bank plc in relation to the provision of project finance facilities for the 26MW Maesgwyn wind farm in South Wales - financial close October 2009
- advising a bidding consortium in relation to its bid for the Crown Estate Offshore Wind (R3) tender process
- advising a developer on a large scale energy from waste project
- advised Barclays Bank plc in relation to the provision of project finance facilities for the Port of Liverpool windfarm project
- advised Barclays Bank plc as lead arranger on the project financing of the 65MW Scout Moor Windfarm in Lancashire
- advised Carno 2 LLP on the acquisition, development and financing of the Carno 2 windfarm project in mid-Wales
- acted for Barclays Bank plc in relation to providing project finance for the Wardlaw Wood Windfarm in Ayrshire
- advised preferred bidder on joint development agreement to develop up to 100MW of onshore wind capacity for large industrial landowner
- advised owners of offshore renewable generating technology on numerous equity funding rounds
- advised the developer on the acquisition, construction and financing of the Wharrels Hill windfarm project in Cumbria
- advised the developer on the construction and financing of the Hill of Fiddes windfarm project in Aberdeenshire
- currently advising a number of developers and sponsors on early stage biomass and AD schemes
