Expertise
Carsten is a corporate finance lawyer with a specific focus on cross border transactions including acquisitions, disposals and group reorganisations. Carsten also has broad experience in advising on commercial agreements including joint ventures and distribution agreements.
Carsten qualified as a lawyer in Germany ("Rechtsanwalt") in 1996 and as an English solicitor in 1997.
His clients include many German, Austrian and Swiss companies and their UK subsidiaries including companies such as Tchibo GmbH and Bijou Brigitte modische Accessories AG. He also acts for a number of German banks as well as multi-national companies.
Carsten has presented seminars on issues of corporate and commercial law at the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany, the German British Chamber of Commerce, UK Trade and Investment as well as the German Lawyers' Institute ("DAI").
Recent Successes:
- acted for the Berlin Stock Exchange (Börse Berlin AG") in a transaction which saw a American investor taking a stake in Börse Berlin AG's Belgian subsidiary, Easdaq NV
- acted for Archer Daniels Midland on a number of disposals and acquisition in the UK including the acquisition of Classic Couverture
- acting for Indian investor in a bid to acquire a German industrial group of companies with subsidiaries in Poland and Romania
- acting for German medium sized manufacturing company in the acquisition of a UK competitor from its administrator
- acting for UK listed company in the sale of its automotive chains business in France, Germany, the US and China to a German automotive supplier
