McGrigors announces three senior hires and new COO
National law firm McGrigors LLP today announced the hires of John Maciver as Partner; Mark Parkhouse as Partner; Pamela Muir as Director; and Tim Salmon as Chief Operating Officer.
John Maciver joins McGrigors from DLA Piper where he was UK Head of Real Estate Finance and Head of Finance & Projects for Scotland. John specialises in all aspects of banking and finance and will focus on further enhancing McGrigors' coverage and services to the Scottish real estate and leveraged finance markets and generally to develop the finance practice. John also has strong experience in project finance and securitisation. John Maciver said: "I am very excited to be joining McGrigors which has a strong profile in banking and finance. I am looking forward to helping this dynamic team to continue their rapid rate of growth throughout the UK."
Mark Parkhouse joins from Reed Smith, where he had been Head of the European Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Group. Mark advises on cross-border and domestic turnaround and recoveries work. He also has experience of major SFO and offshore fraud cases and asset recoveries. Mark joins McGrigors as a partner in the corporate team in London. Mark Parkhouse said: "McGrigors has an experienced corporate restructuring practice which acts for some of the world's largest businesses. The scope of this offering will be bolstered by my experience particularly in turnaround and where necessary, formal insolvency solutions."
Pamela Muir joins from HBJ Gateley Wareing where she was a significant member of the firm's corporate recovery practice in Scotland. Pamela is a restructuring and insolvency specialist and will be based in McGrigors' Glasgow office. Pamela regularly acts for many of the leading insolvency practices in Scotland. Pamela Muir said: "McGrigors’ now has a real strength and depth in restructuring and more formal insolvency and I am excited to be joining a cross-border team which can offer clients practical solutions and, importantly, opportunities in these challenging times.”
Tim Salmon joins from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert where he was Head of Performance Management and focused on measuring and helping improve financial and partner performance. Tim's career spans a vast range of experience, including Finance Director at Richards Butler and partner and Chief Financial Officer at Arthur Andersen, during which time he had oversight for then Andersen Legal firms, Dundas & Wilson and Garretts. As Chief Operating Officer, Tim will have responsibility for McGrigors' finance, HR, IT and facilities teams as well as having a significant role in overall management of the firm.
