Our Russia Ukraine Desk ("RUD") provides commercial, practical, value for money advice for clients from Russia, Ukraine and the wider CIS (the "Region"). We put our clients' objectives at the core of our practice. It is with this mindset that we consistently provide the highest of advice across borders.

 

We are uniquely positioned in our having natives from Russia and Ukraine who are fluent in the Russian and Ukrainian languages but more importantly their business cultures. It is our wider experience in dealing with clients from the Region through which we have developed an understanding of business in the Region that goes beyond mere translation. This cultural and business understanding of the Region is one of the keys to our offering.

 

The role of RUD externally is as the interface for all of McGrigors' offerings to clients from the Region and also for parties interested in expanding into the Region. When a client from the Regions instructs McGrigors one of the RUD team is assigned, as appropriate, to be the nominated RUD liaison to ensure that difficult issues can be dealt with in advance. It is the proactive client focused mindset of RUD that marks it out as unique.

 

A wider aspect of RUD's role is to be a resource centre for clients from the Region (and also for those going to the Region) when they are seeking other professional advisors (bankers, accountants, consultants etc). We aim to provide clients and contacts with options for them to create their own mosaic of advisors.

 

RUD has contacts with professional advisors in the Region and seeks to work with local advisors as opposed to competing with them. For clients from the Region it is by partnering with their own existing local advisors that we can save costs and shorten the learning curve. More importantly, we can ensure that we are achieving the client's objectives.
