Introduction
Each year, usually in June, July and
August, we run a summer placement scheme in each of our offices.
The scheme is an important part of the trainee recruitment
process as it is an opportunity to meet you and other
people who may ultimately seek a training contract with
us. Conversely we also realise that we will be scrutinised
by you to see if we are the type of
firm with whom you would like a traineeship.
On our structured programme, you would be
assigned to one or more of our business units, with a
supervisor and a "buddy" responsible for guidance
during the placement. You would have a checklist of activities
to complete during the placement, including tasks within
the team and also short development workshops - this allows
you to experience a little of what a McGrigors traineeship
would offer and also help your personal development.
During your placement you would also have an opportunity to experience the social side of McGrigors. There will be plenty of opportunities for to you meet members of other teams across your office base.
You will be asked to prepare a presentation in your final week which will be reviewed by a Partner. This, together with the feedback from your supervisor, will be taken into account should you wish to apply for a Training Contract. We do fill some of our traineeships spaces with successful placement scheme people so it's a great opportunity to make an impression! Read on to find out about each office...
