Solicitor - Banking & Finance
The Role:
The role sits within a team of fee earners and reports to a partner or more senior team member. The role includes areas of responsibility in each of the 4 quadrants (clients, people & personal development, financials and internal business process) as appropriate to someone with some post qualification experience and focuses on delivery and further development of these skills in key areas.
Key skills, experience & qualifications required:
Transactional banking lawyer with appropriate post-qualification expertise and a strong personality. Needs to be technically sound, a good communicator and someone who is committed long-term to working in Edinburgh.

Solicitor - Employment and Pensions
The Role:
The Role currently requiring to be filled is for a qualified solicitor with experience of pensions work.
McGrigors' pensions team advises on all areas of pensions law. The team provides advice on scheme funding issues, pension scheme reconstructions, Pension Regulator matters, pension scheme wind-ups, Public to Private Transfers, contentious issues - including claims to the Pensions Ombudsman and the courts, as well as regularly updating scheme documentation.
The pensions team's clients include trustees and sponsoring employers of all sizes of pension scheme as well as financial services companies and local authorities.
Key skills, experience & qualifications required:
Exposure to a significant volume of pensions work as either a trainee or a junior solicitor. An ability from day one to take on low level work with minimum training, but with the expectation of quickly building up experience in document drafting, advising on pensions aspects of corporate transactions, and potentially a significant level of PPF related work.
